Critical thinking and media literacy

Imagen
I believe that critical thinking and media literacy are essential skills in today’s world . We are surrounded by a lot of information every day, especially on social media, and it is easy to believe everything we see without checking if it is true. Critical thinking helps us analyze information carefully, ask questions, and find evidence before accepting something as true. Media literacy is also very important because it helps us understand how media can influence our opinions and emotions. For example, many advertisements and social media posts try to make us feel a certain way or believe certain ideas without showing the full truth. In my opinion, schools should teach critical thinking and media literacy from an early age so that young people can protect themselves from fake news, manipulation, and dangerous information online. If we all learn to think critically and analyze the media we consume, we can make better decisions and become more responsible citizens.

Opinion and Review: Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky Crime and Punishment is one of the most powerful novels I have ever read. It tells the story of Raskolnikov, a poor student in Saint Petersburg who decides to commit a murder, believing he has the right to do it for a “greater good.” However, after the crime, he struggles with deep guilt, fear, and mental torment as he tries to justify his actions. Dostoyevsky shows how Raskolnikov’s mind slowly collapses under the weight of his guilt, and it makes you question what justice and morality really mean. The book is not always easy to read because it has many long reflections and descriptions, but it is worth it. It teaches us that every action has consequences and that even if we think we can control the world, we cannot escape our conscience. Overall, I highly recommend Crime and Punishment if you ...

Hi, everyone!☺ My name is Sofía Valentina González , and I am 17 years old . I’m from Colombia , and I just finished high school . Right now, I am studying systems engineering at SENA and taking the CS50 course from Harvard because I want to improve my programming skills. I love sports , especially running, volleyball, and going to the gym . I usually train about three to five days a week , and I enjoy staying active because it helps me feel strong and clear my mind. I also love video editing . I have more than four years of experience editing videos for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube , and I have managed some TikTok accounts with more than 40,000 followers . In the future, I would love to become a successful systems engineer, travel around the world, and inspire other women to achieve their goals . I also want to write a book, open a small art café, and run marathons one day.
